No, I am not a fashion expert, and while we sell fashion- and hats, they usually has a logo on it. But I just can't seem to keep quiet/ Seriously what were they thinking? Princess Beatrice -not cool! First of all, aren't you supposed to not be too flamboyant at the royal wedding? I think that was in the 22 page Etiquette guide each guest received. AND more importantly what was the hat designer thinking. He really should have spoken to his client and talked them out of it. OYE. That's all I can say.

Earth day has come and gone but shouldn't we really take care of our planet everyday?
Creative use of recycled materials highlight the 2011 list of hottest Recycled products. Bike chains crafted into picture frames and key chains, billboards made into bags and garden litter transformed into journals prove imagination rules this year.
Green products are no longer confined to the ‘crunchy’ set. Now, they’re being used as promotional giveaways to make sure their brand is associated with a commitment to the environment.
Planter can with seeds and soil packet allows user to grow herbs inside. Neat giveaway for schools and great item for offices.
Bags made from recycled billboard and banner material, so banners from a local Earth Day event or any yearly campaign can be recycled into bags to be given out at the following year’s event or sent to event sponsors afterwards, or used as holiday gifts or new business campaign.

We are all watching in horror , the unimaginable devastation going on in Japan. We are praying for all our friends in the areas being hit.
In addition to the human tradgedy, there will be a great impact to our business community, due to the ramifications of the disaster: Japan manufactures
about 50 percent of the circuit boards used to make USB flash drives. With
Japan unable to manufacture these necessary components of flash memory,
China has reported a 30 to 50 percent increase in flash memory prices
overnight along with immediate shortages. All involved are trying to regulate this issue, but it will certainly take a while before we see this ease.
Beyond the economic impact, We are very concerned about assisting the people who have been affected by this tragedy, We can all make a difference. In the present is reaching out to the redcross to make a donation and you can to.Those who want to help can visit the website for the American Red Cross: www.redcross.org
COCKAMAMI. For 48 oh wait 49 years, I’ve been hearing that word come out of my parents mouth. Just recently, ok 10 minutes ago my father used it when I asked him to proof read an article. He is an English professor and head of our copywriting department, so he said …..this cockamamie article is fine. What is this word cockamamie that you always use, and then he proceeded to tell me it was a fake tattoo from the 30’s. Of course I didn’t believe him..I know that word to mean silly, crazy, but not the name of a tattoo toy? So I looked it up. Ok, I admit, it took me a while at first because I thought I was spelling it wrong, but not so, it was because I was putting in the 30’s when in fact it was from the 40’s or 50’s.
The real definition is:
Show Spelled[kok-uh-mey-mee] Show IPA
–adjective Slang .
ridiculous, pointless, or nonsensical: full of wild schemes and cockamamie ideas.
And then much to my shock……there it was,
Origin:
‡ 1940–45, Americanism ; in orig. sense, paper strip with an image which could be transferred to the skin when moistened, appar. alter. of decalcomania; sense “ridiculous” prob. by assoc. with cock-and-bull story, poppycock, etc.
(thank you dictionary.com)
So there I had it, he was speaking the truth as he always does. It was a fake tattoo toy that was sometimes put in the cracker jack boxes. We all remember those. The cracker jacks not the caockamami's. So this reminiscing made me think. . . .what were some other things that were made in earlier days that have now grown into some real great or fun gifts.
So I searched and look what I found, now I want to also say that I’m usually more a modern “gal” (see now there’s a word that was used back then too), I don’t really care for old things, but some of these made me crack up.
In the 1940’sThe Tripod Clock, from Vitra, a 1947 George Nelson Design, is an authentic re-edition of a classic mid-century modern design. This functional and geometric work of art represents the work of one of America's most original designers. George Nelson counted on bold graphic forms to make his compelling artistic statement. His designs are considered American icons.

I’m certain these were the pre designs to the Movado. . .
Look at this
twin hooded poncho from the 70’s. This can't be for real can it?
Yeah come on that is from “earlier times”. I’m certain this is what sparked the creation of the SNUGGIE.
So some are cockamamie and some are modern silly fun, but they all are fabulous gifts for their time!
